Alpaca
The Sydney Royal Alpaca Competition is internationally recognised and regarded as one of the most prestigious in Australia, attracting Suri, Huacaya and Fleece exhibits. First introduced to the Easter Show in 1869, alpaca have been a continuous feature since 1992.
All Exhibitors, whether first-time entrant or Trophy winner, receive valuable feedback from the independent judges, helping to benchmark studs and breeders against peers and competitors in the industry.

The Sydney Royal Alpaca Schools Competition
The Alpaca Schools Competition is for teams of 4 students – 2 Senior and 2 Junior to represent their schools at the Sydney Royal Agricultural Show. This is an entry level competition designed for students who have had little or no experience with alpacas and have not competed previously in an Alpaca Youth Parader competition. No previous experience with alpacas is required. Loan alpacas can be provided on the day for the teams to use.
Juniors: school years 7-9
Seniors: school years 10-12
Alpaca Youth Paraders Competition
Preliminary and Open Showmanship and Stockmanship
Junior: under 11 years
Intermediate: 11 years to under 15 years
Senior: 15 years to under 18 years
Adult: 18 years to under 26 years
*All competitors compete as individuals
