Scholar's stories
Students across Australia faced the challenges of COVID-19 like no other group, with institutions closing, students sent home and online learning becoming the norm. One group heavily impacted was our rural scholars, many away from home for the first time. No sooner had they adapted to life in a new location they were then sent straight back home. However, they persevered with their education and took comfort in the support we offered via our scholarships and recognition of their sacrifice and determination.
"I am so very grateful for the opportunity you have provided me over the past year. Your support has encouraged me tremendously as I progress towards the end of my university degree. Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it" - Angie Molyneaux
"The RAS Foundation scholarship has really encouraged, supported and allowed me to put my best self forward, be heavily involved in my studies and provided me with a wonderful opportunity" - Brad Chapman
"The support has been immeasurable during the difficult year that was 2020. Being supported by the Foundation created a drive within me that pushed me to continue my studies when times got tough. I will be forever grateful for the opportunities and support provided by the RAS Foundation and sincerely thank all those involved in helping me pursue my studies" - Brittany Doolan
"Simply knowing that your organisation believed in me to the extent of providing me with this scholarship has been just as valuable as the economic support, especially with the challenges this year has presented" - Emelia Inwood
