Memorable Poems written by Bruce Walker, Marena Stud
During our time at Moore Park, a longstanding Horse Exhibitor, Bruce Walker from Marena Stud penned many poems about Memories at the Show . This is one of my favorites.
"TRUE COMPETITORS BIEW"
We've competed at all "Royal Shows"
For many, many years -
And seen all those hassled mums,
With children, all in tears,
But the one thing that's stays solid,
Which we all depend upon,
Is the staff there in the "Supers Box".
with old starters like our "Ron"
There's "Eileen" always at the front
and "Barry's" at her back.
With "New Ron", "Nicole" "Kina" and "Susie",
To handle the next attack,
But disgruntled ones will muster,
And if you talked till lungs were flat,
You couldn't show the reasons,
For the position that they're at.
So they round onto the "Measures"
"John" and "Perce" and "Bill"
Then "Jack" and "Maria".
and shot at willy nil.
But the really stubborn ones they say'
"Take me to your Boss" -
Then "Lynelle" is fronted,
And lined up in the toss -
Others say that "Jerry"
Up there in "Ring Control",
Wakes up so early.
And his announcements are so droll,
Green Coats" are always named,
Then spoken of as brash,
Though at any given moment.
Save mothers darling, with a dash.
But I say from real show people.
This in the "Supers Box" you show know,
Your efforts are the "Stars at Night"
You really make our show -
