Sydney Spring Garden Competition

A beautiful garden can transform and uplift an entire neighbourhood into a vibrant and welcoming space. Lush greenery, colourful blooms and wafting fragrances on a spring breeze invite people to spend time outdoors.

Gardens foster a sense of community and brighten a peaceful walk, inspiring others to take pride in their surroundings, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing locality.

Whether it’s a small array of pots in the front of a modern terrace house, an expansive English garden fronting a historic home, or anything in between, your front garden could be the next Sydney Spring Garden winner!

The Sydney Spring Garden Competition honours the bequest of Lt. Col. Charles Ronald Christian, a British army surgeon who visited Australia in 1933. Dr. Christian bequeathed equal shares of his estate to the cities of Sydney and Perth for the purpose of awarding annual prizes to beautiful gardens in front of or around private homes. He expressly detailed that such gardens must be viewable to the general public from the road or footpath.
