Arts and Crafts
Australia’s largest showcase of creativity, the Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Competition features an incredible array of talent, with approximately 5,000 exhibits across 400 competition categories. From stunning works of Art and Photography to Pottery, Cake Decorating, Perishable Cooking, Preserves, Woodwork, Leatherwork, Quilting, Knitting, Soft Toys, and more, there’s something to inspire and delight every visitor.
Since its debut in 1869, the Arts & Crafts Pavilion has been a cornerstone of the Sydney Royal Easter Show, holding its place as the third most visited Pavilion. This enduring attraction celebrates the ingenuity, skill, and craftsmanship of creators from across Australia, making it a must-see destination for all Show attendees.

Judging
All judging for the Arts & Crafts Competitions is done pre-Show and is closed to the public with the exception of the Perishable Cooking Judging, which is on the first day of the Show, in the Arts and Crafts Pavilion.
Judges in the Arts & Crafts Competition are high-profile, well established figures from the arts and crafts industry. They may include eminent artists, Archibald Prize winners, gallery owners and other highly regarded figures from the arts. Craft judges are chosen from recommendations made by representative bodies from each craft category.
Here at the Sydney Royal Art & Crafts Show, we celebrate the boundless creativity of young artists and crafters like you. These competitions are your canvas, and your imagination is the only limit. Whether you're aiming for the top prize or just want to share your passion with fellow young artists, this is your platform.
You can find the Under 20’s Section within the 2025 Arts & Crafts Schedule, please note this is not a separate competition to the Sydney Royal Arts & Crafts Show and exhibitors under the age of 20 are welcome to enter the open aged classes if they wish.

The Sydney Royal Arts Preview is a distinguished event that celebrates the finest works featured in the annual Competition. This exclusive evening draws art lovers, exhibitors, and notable members of the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Council, offering a captivating display of diverse creations. From portraits and rural to urban-themed pieces, to ceramics and beyond, the event showcases the exceptional talent of artists. Guests can enjoy live music, connect with fellow art enthusiasts, and witness the presentation of First Place Art Prizes and Special Awards. Attendees also have the unique opportunity to purchase exhibited works before the Show officially opens to the public.
