Maureen Walker
Since the early days of the Royal Easter Show the coming together of remarkable people from all walks of life and from all parts of the country has made the Show into the remarkable institution it has become. Maureen Walker competed at the Sydney Royal Easter Show from the age of 4 first riding in the Show in 1939 and going on to become a horse judge. Here she remembers being a young country kid coming up to the big smoke to compete (edited extract from an interview with Richard Raxworthy in 1995).
