2014 - Melvin Duffy 

Melvin Duffy from Swansea, NSW, started parading Jersey cattle at the Royal Easter Show in the 1950s and ten years later began exhibiting beautiful rural subject and landscape paintings in the Arts & Craft competition.  Ever since the inaugural 'popular choice' award category was created in 1989, he has won the coveted title an astonishing 12 times. In 2009, he was honoured for his services to art with an Order of Australia Medal and in 2012, he received first prize at the RES for his rural subject painting 'As Time Goes By'. In 2014 he won the coveted title of Show Legend.
