2012 - Jan Boon  

For Jan Boon, cake making was a way of life. Working as a home economist in the 1960s she was then invited to judge cooking and cake decorating at the RES. After judging cakes at the Show for over 20 years, she was given the Show Legend Award in 2012 and her contributions to the Show community as a highly skilled judge in Arts & Crafts, Fine Food and the District Exhibits, continued. In 2023 her efforts were again formally recognised and she was declared the RES Contributor of the Year.
