Wynne Pavilion
Harry H Wynne was a foundation member of the RAS Cat Club of NSW and its Chairman from 1950 – 1984. He was a Steward at Sydney Royal Cat Shows from 1948 – 1984 and founder and editor of the RAS Cat Control Journal from 1969 – 1986.
So, it made purr-fect sense when a dedicated domestic pet pavilion was unveiled at Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park, named after the man who devoted so many years of his life to the RAS and in particular the feline world. At Sydney Royal Easter Show time the Wynne Pavilion housed cats and other domestic animals right up until 2016 before welcoming new tenants and turning into the Heritage Pavilion from 2017 onwards. One piece of history it hasn’t shared yet is the fact that Henry never owned a cat of his own!
