William & Kate Steal the Show Bush Tele Feature
The Show lived up to its royal name yesterday as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge stole the show and captured the hearts of thousands of spectators.
It was the seventh time the Show had been patronised by members of the Royal family, with people of all ages excited to catch a glimpse of the couple. While Prince William made a grand entrance, all eyes were on Catherine, who wore a cream-lace dress by well-known Australian fashion label Zimmermann.
The couple was greeted by Royal Agricultural Society of NSW President Glenn Dudley and his wife Jennifer on arrival. William and Kate’s first stop was the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome, where the popular pair paused to look at the District Exhibits and speak with Court members.
The Duke and Duchess then visited the Arts & Crafts Pavilion to view the exhibits and officially open the new 10,000 square-metre exhibition hall.
The final stop was the Sheep & Wool Pavilion where Catherine met the 2013 winner of Wool4Skool, Sophie Alyward, who showcased her winning design. The Duchess even paused for a joke at her husband’s expense, suggesting he could use Alpaca wool to conceal his thinning hair.
RAS members Marie Whiteman, Margaret Bryant and Margaret White, who were seated inside the Dome during the memorable visit, said the event was the perfect opportunity to showcase Australian agriculture.
“They are the most exciting Royals, it is a wonderful highlight to see Kate and William,” Margaret Bryant said. “The Show is the perfect way to showcase Australia to the Royals.”
